SmallPond, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gale Force Software Corporation, announces the release of version 2.7 of its SmallPond™ DNA Profile Matching System. Among other features, this new version adds audit trail capabilities and improved tools to support customizable DNA profile import file formats.
The audit trail feature protects both the public and law enforcement agencies by providing an objective record of how the DNA database is being used. According to Eric White, SmallPond™ Global Sales Manager, “The audit trail will be an invaluable tool in defending employees during investigations by alleged suspects."
With the addition of the new import features, SmallPond™ can now easily support DNA profile data from: CODIS CMF (XML) format, Rapid DNA instruments, popular STR data analysis and intepretation software packages as well as custom, spreadsheet-based formats.
SmallPond™ is a web-based DNA-Profile matching technology that enables users (e.g., law enforcement or government agencies) to maintain their own private database of STR DNA-Profile information and provides for real-time matching of DNA Profiles. This product performs very much like the national CODIS database and can be used as a resource to various agencies by enabling matching on DNA-Profiles that may not be eligible for promotion to CODIS.
